A while back, I wrote an Instructable on the methods I used to create a full alphabet of glyphs for sort of steampunk-ish font I called Retrotech.
It was featured on the Instructables home page which was cool, but it's proven far less popular then my Laser Cut Foam Inserts for Toolboxes Instructable.
Rather than duplicate the whole project here, if you are interested, head on over to the Instructable and check it out.
I made this "font" mainly to use as a display font when vector engraving tool boxes and such at TechShop SJ.
I really like how tempered masonite reacts to vector and raster engraving on the laser.
